The Gunners have had issues with creativity in recent games, with the North London club struggling to create enough chances for star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal lost 3-0 to Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League before the international break and played out a goalless draw with Leeds United away from home at Elland Road in the league last weekend.
Wilshere is a free agent at the moment, having left West Ham United at the end of the last season.
The 28-year-old midfielder came through the Arsenal academy and played over 100 league matches for the Gunners before leaving the North London outfit in the summer of 2018.
There have been calls in recent days for Arsenal to bring back Wilshere, with German attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil currently omitted from the Gunners’ Premier League and Europa League squad.
Arteta has praised Wilshere, having played with the Englishman at Arsenal, but the Spaniard has said that no thoughts have been given regarding bringing the midfielder back to the Emirates Stadium.
The Spaniard said regarding Wilshere coming back, as quoted on Arsenal’s official website: “We haven’t analysed that situation. What I can tell you about Jack is what I’ve said in the past, as a player, as a teammate and as a person I rate him really really highly. Unfortunately, at the moment we haven’t looked at that. We are focused on the players we have and were trying to do the best we can with them.”
