The former Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker has described Foden as “a wonderful footballer” on Twitter.
Lineker made the remark about the 20-year-old while watching him in action for England in their UEFA Nations League Group A2 game against Iceland at Wembley Stadium in London on Wednesday evening.
Foden started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as Gareth Southgate’s side won 4-0.
The City youngster scored twice for the Three Lions, first in the 80th minute and then on 84 minutes.
The England international midfielder also played three key passes, had a pass accuracy of 90.3%, won one header, took 83 touches, attempted five dribbles, made one tackle, and put in six crosses.

Foden has made four starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for City so far this season, scoring two goals in the process.
The youngster has also made two starts and one substitute appearance in the Champions League for the Citizens this campaign, providing one assist in the process.
