Gabriel Agbonlahor has raved about Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn.

The former Villa striker believes that McGinn does not get the credit that he deserves and has been impressed by the performances of the Scotland international midfielder.

The 26-year-old has been on the books of Villa since the summer of 2018 and has established himself as an important player in the team.

The Scotland international midfielder has scored one goal and provided four assists in seven Premier League matches for Villa so far this season.

During the 2019-20 campaign, McGinn made 27 starts and one substitute appearances in the league for Dean Smith’s side, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the process.

Agbonlahor said about McGinn on talkSPORT (9:15am, November 17, 2020): “He came back from an injury last season and it took him a while to get back up to form. But, for me, he’s that guy who doesn’t get enough credit as he deserves.

“I was at the Southampton game at Villa Park and I was watching him. Every time there was a foul, he was starting it off quick and hungry to get the team back into the game.

“I feel like he has been outstanding this season as well and he has been one of Villas best players, for sure.”
