Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has raved about Tammy Abraham.

Lampard was pleased by Abraham’s goal for Chelsea in their win against Rennes at home in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The Blues got the better of Rennes 3-0 at Stamford Bridge in Group E to enhance their chances of going through to the knockout stages.

Abraham started the match for the Premier League club and scored the third goal five minutes into the second half.

So far this season, the 23-year-old England international striker has scored one goal and provided one assist in six Premier League matches, and has scored one goal and given one assist in three Champions League games.

Lampard told Chelsea’s official website about Abraham: “I’m very happy with Tammy. I’ve had numerous conversations with him and we have a good relationship.

“We brought in attacking players in the summer but players that are versatile in their nature. I know the qualities he brings to the team when hes at his best, like tonight and at Burnley.

“He got his goal, stretches teams, sets the press and gets the team up the pitch. Those are all things that are maybe slightly unseen but theyre really important for me.”
