Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has left Mesut Ozil out of his squad for the group stage of the Europa League this season.

The Gunners have qualified for the group stage of the 2020-21 Europa League campaign after winning the FA Cup last season.

Ozil will not play any role for the North London in the group stage, with Sky Sports reporting that manager Arteta has decided to omit him from the squad.

The German attacking midfielder has not played for Arsenal since March and is out of contract at the former Premier League champions in the summer of 2021.

Ozil played in every Premier League game under Arteta last season before the coronavirus pandemic stopped football in England in March.

Arsenal are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with nine points from four matches.
