Edinson Cavani may not be able to make his debut for Manchester United against Newcastle United when club football resumes after the two-week international break.

United will take on Newcastle away from home at St. James Park in the Premier League on October 17.

Cavani joined the Reds on a free transfer on summer deadline day on Monday, and fans will have expected to see a glimpse of the 33-year-old striker against the Magpies.

However, according to BBC Sport, the former Palermo and Napoli striker may not be able to make his debut for United against Newcastle.

Thats because the striker has had to enter a 14-day self-isolation period following his arrival in England from France on Sunday.

Cavani had left French giants Paris Saint-Germain back in June and was not part of any ‘elite athlete bubble’.

This means that, like (most) other travellers from France to England, the striker will have to self-isolate for two weeks.

United are 16th in the Premier League table at the moment with three points from three matches.
