Marcelo Bielsa has said that he will stay on as the head coach of Leeds United this season.

Bielsa was appointed as the head coach of Leeds in the summer of 2018, and the Argentine is technically out of contract at the club.

The Argentine’s current deal ran out at the end of last season, and there has been no official announcement regarding a new contract.

However, Bielsa has been going on about his job as usual and has been training his players as normal.

The former Marseille boss has confirmed that he will not leave Leeds and will continue as the Whites boss.

Leeds finished in the top six of the Championship table during the 2018-19 campaign and won automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of last season.

Goal.com quotes Bielsa as saying: “I will be working the next season at Leeds United. Everything has been sorted and it’s definite I will be here this season, but like with every negotiation, nothing is done until it’s done.”

Leeds will play in the Premier League this season for the first time since 2004.

The Whites will begin their new season with a clash against defending champions Liverpool away from home at Anfield on Saturday.
