Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers over the signing of Matt Doherty in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported by Football Insider that Tottenham will pay Premier League rivals Wolves an initial transfer fee of 16 million pounds for Doherty, with a potential further 4 million pounds in add-ons.

The report has added that the North London outfit will now officially make a bid, and that they are confident of securing the transfer before the new Premier League season starts on September 12.

Doherty has been on the books of Wolves since 2010 and has established himself as one of the better right-backs in the Premier League.

The Republic of Ireland international has also operated as a left wing-back and will be a good signing for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Doherty made 32 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Wolves during the 2019-20 season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in the process.
