Mesut Ozil has said that he does not plan to leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

The German attacking midfielder is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of next season.

According to The London Evening Standard, Ozil earns 350,000 pounds per week as salary, and Arsenal are keen on offload him this summer.

However, the 31-year-old former Real Madrid star has made it clear that he will stay at the Emirates Stadium for the 2020-21 campaign and will fulfil his contract.

The London Evening Standard quotes Ozil as saying: “My position is clear. I’m here through to the last day of our agreement and I’ll give everything I have for this club.

“I showed in the past that I can come back into the team and I will show it again. I’ll decide when I go, not other people. I didn’t sign for two or three years, I signed for four and that should be respected by everyone.”

Marginalised

Ozil struggled for playing time this past season and does not seem to be in Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s plans.

The attacking midfielder made 18 appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process.

The German also made one start and one substitute appearance in the Europa League, played twice in the EFL cup and once in the FA Cup for the North London outfit this past season.
