Rangers manager Steven Gerrard was pleased to see his side get the better of Livingstone at home, but he believes that his side could have done better.

The Gers made it three wins out of three in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday evening with a comfortable 3-0 victory over St Johnstone at Ibrox.

Borna Barisic put the Glasgow giants ahead after 21 minutes when the Croatia international left-back curled home a free kick from 18 yards after David Wotherspoon had tripped Alfredo Morelos.

Former Liverpool winger Ryan Kent doubled the home team’s advantage in the second minute of first-half injury time when he turned home Barisic’s low cross.

Rangers wrapped up the three points just four minutes into the second half when Joe Aribo home from a corner.

Gerrard told Rangers’ official website: “I thought we were poor at 3-0 but I am really delighted with the individual goals. I thought Ryan [Kent]’s goal was a great team goal and obviously we scored from set-pieces so Tom Culshaw is doing his magic.

“So there are a lot of positives to take from the game and I will go away happy, but I am concerned with our standards at 3-0 - it wasn’t good enough.”

“There were too many people turning the ball over and too many players complicating things and taking the extra touch when it’s not needed. We got sloppy and we didn’t deserve four and five.”
