Bournemouth have been relegated from the Premier League after five years in the top flight of English football.
The Cherries won 3-1 against Everton away from home at Goodison Park on the final day of the season on Sunday, but that was not enough.
Eddie Howe’s side have finished third from bottom in the Premier League table with 34 points from 38 matches.
Wilshere spent the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Bournemouth from Arsenal, and the 28-year-old England international midfielder has expressed his disappointment on Twitter at the Cherries going down to the second tier of English football.
The midfielder has added that he hopes that Bournemouth bounce back into the top flight of English football soon.
Sad to see my old team @afcbournemouth relegated from the Premier league. I had an amazing year on the south coast and made memories that i will cherish forever. Top club with top lads, staff and fans. Hopefully see them back very soon

Meanwhile, Bournemouth manager Howe has said that he will speak to the club’s owners about getting the team back to the Premier League.
The Englishman has said that he is determined for the Cherries to clinch promotion from the Championship.
Howe told BBC Sport: “In terms of the future and what it looks like, that is for another day. I think the next step for me is to speak to the owner and the directors and see where we go from here.
“We need to have a strong vision of the future. I am determined for Bournemouth to get back in the Premier League.”
