Garth Crooks has spoken highly of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane for his performance against Leicester City last weekend.

The former Tottenham forward has included Kane in his BBC Premier League Team of the Week.

Kane scored two goals in Spurs’ 3-0 victory over Leicester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League last Sunday.

The England international striker found the net first in the 37th minute and doubled his tally just three minutes later.

Crooks wrote on BBC Sport about Kane: “One with his right foot and one with his left in the win over Leicester keeps Kane and Spurs on course for a top-six finish. Kane is in great form and it’s not just his finishing. His all round game is as good as it has ever been.

The ball he produced for Son Heung-min in the second half was outstanding and with a better touch from the South Korean it would have resulted in a goal-scoring opportunity.

“However, it was Kane’s second goal that signalled the England captain was back to his best. I don’t care who is in goal, you can’t stop finishes like that.”

Stats

Kane has scored 17 goals and provided two assists in 28 Premier League matches for Tottenham this season.

The 26-year-old has also scored six goals in five Champions League games for the North London outfit this campaign.

Tottenham are seventh in the Premier League table at the moment with 58 points from 37 matches.

Jose Mourinho’s side will take on Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in London in their final league game of the season on Sunday.
