Manchester United defender Brandon Williams is confident that he and his teammates will qualify for the Champions League next season.

United are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 63 points from 37 matches.

The Red Devils played out a 1-1 draw with West Ham United at Old Trafford in the league on Wednesday evening.

United’s final league game is against Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium in the league.

If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side avoid defeat against the Foxes on Sunday, then they will ensure that they will play in the Champions League next season.

Left-back Williams is confident that United will get the job done against Leicester and will qualify for Europes premier club competition for the 2020-21 campaign.

Williams told United’s official website: “Of course we wanted the victory [against West Ham], but we got a result that’s put us in the position we wanted to be in, inside the top four.

“We’ve got to go there now [to Leicester] with full confidence that we’ll win, because we’re the biggest club in the world and we need to be playing where this club needs to be playing which is the Champions League.”

Stats

Williams, 19, has made 10 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for United this season, scoring one goal in the process.

The teenager left-back has also made five appearances in the Europa League, and has played six times in the FA Cup and four times in the EFL Cup.
