The Premier League has finally exploded into life.

We wanna see goals, we wanna see fouls, we wanna see that twisted tribalism that makes no sense but feels so good.

This weekend, the Premier League offered that.

Big Games

We’ve already seen some surprising results come to pass. Leicester City finally got back on the wagon with a Jamie Vardy inspired win over Crystal Palace, who are suffering from an offensive malaise and can’t seem to be able to hit the back of the net right now.

That result helps them keep the wolves away from their door and hang on in third place, although not literally as Wolves suffered their own loss. Arsenal, who were a figure of fun, have suddenly turned the corner so quickly they’ve left their boots behind.

Methods

Mikel Arteta has overseen a run of form that’s earned the Gunners four wins in a row as they responded brilliantly to the 2-1 loss against Brighton.

Bukayo Saka recently signed a new contract and rewarded his manager’s faith in him with the first goal of the game and if he progresses at this rate, he’ll be the best investment they made since the first few Alexis Sanchez years.

There was excitement down the other end of the table, too, as the Seagulls made the most of Bournemouth’s loss against Manchester United to solidify their chances of staying in the Premier League.

Back To It

United plundered five against the Cherries, who look more ripe for the picking as the weeks progress. Man Utd saw their not-so-United rivals from the north-east, Newcastle, grab four against Eddie Howe’s men and thought they could go one better.

Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, and Anthony Martial all scored - which was enough to send Twitter into a complete meltdown of claim and counter-claim.

Gone

One goal was all Brighton needed to beat the dead-and-buried Norwich, who seem resigned to their relegation fate. Brighton are now nine points off the bottom three, although they have played one game more than Aston Villa - who are third bottom.

And that was all on Saturday.
