Higuain was among the scorers for Juventus along with Paulo Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo and Matthijs de Ligt as all four goals were netted in the second half.
The result also extends the Old Lady’s lead at the Serie A summit to seven points ahead of second-placed Lazio who host Fiorentina on Saturday.
“It was a more painful game, we had trouble at the beginning and then we managed to fuel in the final part of the first half,” Sarri said.
“By playing every three days there can be similar approaches, the numerical superiority allowed us to get the better of the opponent, who was also tired in the second half.
“I saw a nice mentality, because we continued to attack until the end. Now we have to keep it and continue to get the results.”
Former Argentina international Higuain came off the bench in the 77th minute to score six minutes later to make it 3-0.
It marked a special milestone, having returned to his homeland during the coronavirus outbreak which touched him personally, while he was injured upon the side’s return to training.
Higuain had questioned football’s return amid the pandemic but understood its importance to the Italian public’s morale.
“He has had a difficult time on a personal and global level,” Sarri said.
“COVID hit him hard and he had a small injury, is now coming back and I’m glad he scored immediately. He will give us a lot in the final part of the season.
Higuain, who has netted six goals this season for Juve, added he was committed to the team’s cause despite his personal emotions.
It was not an easy time, but I understood what the team needed, I had to get back on track to respond,” he said.
“We did our homework tonight, but the season is long, and we know it can change at any moment.”
