Reigning Premiership and European champions Manchester United have been dealt with a huge injury blow. It has been confirmed that their influential central midfielde Paul Scholes shall be out of action for at least 10 weeks. paul scholes

Scholes, a former England international, injured himself during United’s UEFA Champions League clash with Aalborg away from home and was stretchered out early in the match. Subsequent medical tests on the player have revealed that he shall be out of action for until 2009.

This must be a huge blow for United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Paul Scholes shall now miss the next 10 weeks, which implies that he would be absent for the rest of United’s UEFA Champions League campaign.

Scholes shall also miss United’s key away games against Everton, Manchester City and Arsenal in the coming weeks. He is expected to be back into action only in January next year.
