The midfielder has proven himself to be level-headed, rational and one of the most sane football men around.
Conversations surrounding the future of the Premier League tend to be devoid of much rationality. They line up, broadly, on two sides. Those who are all in favour of scrapping the whole season and calling it ânull and voidâ, and those who want things to be restarted.
Hardline
They tend to draw their battle lines on partisan lines. Clubs in the bottom half of the league, and their fans, seem to want relegation scrapped and the season called off.
The other half want Liverpool to be denied the league title. Except Mark Noble.
Jurgen Kloppâs team have been superb this season and are currently 25 points clear at the top of the league. Whichever way you look at it, they deserve to be crowned champions but there are still people out there who seem intent on denying them the sweet taste of victory.
Streets Ahead
Liverpool have been better than any other side by a huge margin and the manner in which their only loss of the season, a surprise defeat to Watford, was celebrated by the rest of the land is a marker of how impervious theyâve become.
It takes a lot, especially in the ultra-musculine, alpha world of Premier League football to speak openly about how one side is clearly better than the other. But Noble has got form for this and itâs refreshing to see.
The Daily Star reported that he said: âI just think it would be an absolute disaster on Liverpool if that (null and void) happens.
âBecause they thoroughly deserve to win the league this year and I just donât think morally that can happen to be honest.
âI think even if we went into October time. I think we should just get it finished this season and worry about next season after that.â
