The former Queens Park Rangers striker, who joined West Brom from Southampton in the summer of 2019, has backed Pereira to have a successful career.
The 23-year-old winger moved to the Baggies on a season-long loan deal from Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon last summer.
Austin has also praised Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips, and has stated that the 24-year-old is the second-best player in the EFL.

Austin has made 13 starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Championship for West Brom so far this season, scoring eight goals and providing one assist in the process.
Pereira has made 29 starts and four substitute appearances in the league for the Baggies, scoring six goals and providing 12 assists in the process.
Phillips has scored one goal and provided two assists in 31 league matches for Leeds.
Leeds are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 71 points from 37 matches, a point clear of second-placed West Bromwich Albion.
