Premiership side Manchester City have been linked with a number of top class players since their takeover by the Abu Dhabi based ADUG last month and this time the Eastlanders have been linked with the Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu.
Mutu, a Romanian international, had been linked with a link away from Florence all summer. There were confirmed reports that the former Chelsea striker would be moving to Italian side AS Roma for an estimated 20 million euro in the summer but Fiorentina rejected that bid, instead assuring Mutu that he would be allowed to leave the club in the summer of 2009.
Adrian Mutu has now been linked with Man City. It has been reported that along with Esteban Cambiasso, the Argentine international defensive midfielder currently at Italian champions Inter Milan, the Blues would also sign Mutu in the summer and are ready to splash out as much money as Fiorentina demand.
Manchester City have also been linked with world class players such as Kaka of AC Milan, David Villa of Valencia and Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United. They signed the Brazilian international Robinho from Spanish and European giants Real Madrid for 42 million euros on the last day of the summer transfer market.
