The former Arsenal right-back has spoken highly of the 19-year-old defender, and believes that his French compatriot will do well for the Gunners.
Saliba joined the North London outfit from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2019 for 27 million pounds.
As part of the deal, the 19-year-old remained on loan at the French club for the 2019-20 campaign.
Saliba is due to move to Arsenal in the summer of 2020, and his French compatriot Sagna believes that the teenager will do well at the Emirates Stadium.
Sagna told Goal.com about Saliba: “First he will need to adapt to English football. He is a big prospect for the future but Arsenal need him to perform as soon as he starts.
“He is aware of that probably, but he has a lot of qualities and he will learn fast. Hopefully he will achieve good things and become one of the best centre-backs in the league.
“He is very confident in defending, he is not afraid to defend one against one and most of the time he wins the duels, which is the best quality as a defender. You need some security, you need some presence and he has that.”
Stats
Saliba has made 11 starts and one substitute appearance in Ligue 1 and has played twice in the Europa League for Saint-Etienne so far this season.
During the 2018-19 campaign, the former France Under-20 international made 13 starts and three substitute appearances in the league.
Saint-Etienne are just three points above the Ligue 1 relegation zone at the moment, while Arsenal currently find themselves ninth in the Premier League table.
