Juventus and Argentina star Paulo Dybala has become the latest footballer to have tested positive for coronavirus.

The 26-year-old forward is the third Juventus to contract COVID-19, following Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi as Italy is gripped by the pandemic.

Dybala updated his followers on his Instagram account, writing: “Both Oriana (his girlfriend) and I have tested positive. Luckily we are in perfect conditions.”

Juventus made the following statement: “He has been in voluntary home isolation since Wednesday 11 March. He will continue to be monitored, following the usual regime. He is well and is asymptomatic.”

All domestic sport in Italy including Serie A, has been suspended until April 3 at the earliest.

Meanwhile, former Italy and AC Milan defender Paolo Maldini, 51, has also tested positive to coronavirus, along with his son Daniel.

Maldini is currently working as Milan technical director while his son Daniel is an 18-year-old attacking midfielder who recently debuted for the Rossoneri.

“Paolo and Daniel are in good condition and, after having already spent more than two weeks in their home without external contacts, as foreseen by the medical-health protocols, they will extend the quarantine for the time necessary for complete clinical recovery,” Milan said in a club statement.
