Giroud put the Blues in the lead in the 15th minute, and Marcos Alonso doubled the advantage for Frank Lampard’s side just three minutes into the second half.
An own goal from Antonio Rudiger in the 89th minute gave some hope to Spurs, but Jose Mourinho’s team failed to do much of note thereafter.
