The Championship club have stated on their official website that they have secured the services of the striker on loan from German side Leipzig until the end of the season.
Augustin was on loan at Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, but he has terminated that deal and has moved to Leeds.
The 22-year-old striker struggled to make an impact Monaco, as he could manage to make only two starts and made just eight substitute appearances in the league.
Augustin himself has announced his arrival at Elland Road on Twitter, and he seems to be excited at joining Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Third January Signing
Augustin becomes Leeds’s third signing of the January transfer window following the arrivals of Elia Caprile and Ian Poveda.
While 18-year-old goalkeeper Caprile has joined the Whites from Italian club Chievo Verona, 19-year-old winger Poveda has made the switch from defending Premier League champions Manchester City.
Promotion Push
Leeds, who have not featured in the Premier League since 2004, are aiming to clinch automatic promotion from the Championship.
The Whites are second in the league table at the moment with 52 points from 28 matches, a point behind leaders West Bromwich Albion and three points clear of third-placed Fulham.
Leeds will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Millwall at Elland Road in the Championship.
