The 30-year-old forward has joined Qatari club Al-Gharafa SC from English outfit Villa in the January transfer window.
The Ivory Coast international has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Al-Gharafa.
The former Angers and Bristol City forward was out of contract at the Villans at the end of the season.
Kodjia has taken to Twitter to send an emotional message to Villa, and he has thanked the fans for their support.

Aston Villa Spell
Kodjia joined Villa from Bristol City in the summer of 2016 for an initial transfer fee of 11 million pounds.
The forward made 36 appearances in the Championship for Villa during the 2016-17 campaign, scoring 19 goals and providing one assist in the process.
The Ivory Coast international scored one goal and provided three assists in 18 Championship matches for the Villans in 2017-18, while in 2018-19, he scored nine goals and provided two assists in 2042 minutes of league football.
Kodjia was able to play only 112 minutes of Premier League football for Villa this season before he joined Al-Gharafa.
Relegation Battle
Villa are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Dean Smith’s side are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 22 points from 23 matches.
