King joined Scottish Premiership club Rangers on loan from Premier League outfit Leicester in the summer of 2019.
The Wales international midfielder was scheduled to stay at Ibrox until the summer of 2020, but the 31-year-old’s loan spell at the Gers has been cut short due to lack of playing time.
The midfielder played just a minute in the Europa League, and made two substitutes appearances each in the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Premiership for Steven Gerrard’s side this season.
King may have struggled to make an impact at Rangers, but the Welshman has stated on Twitter that he enjoyed his time at Ibrox and has wished the club the best of luck for the rest of the season.

Rangers are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title this season, and ascertain that biter Old Firm rivals Celtic’s quest to make it nine in a row fails.
The Gers are second in the league table at the moment with 50 points from 19 matches, just two points behind leaders Celtic and have a game in hand.
Rangers have also reached the knockout rounds of the Europa League and will face Sporting Braga in the round of 32.
