United suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of City at home in the first leg of the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening.
Bernardo Silva put City ahead in the Manchester derby after 17 minutes, and Riyad Mahrez doubled the advantage for Pep Guardiola’s side on 33 minutes.
An own goal from Andreas Pereira in the 38th minute saw the Citizens go 3-0 up in the first leg at Old Trafford.
Rashford pulled one back for United in the 70th minute, with the Red Devils giving themselves a lifeline for the second leg to be played at the Etihad Stadium later this month.
The 22-year-old England international forward is delighted to have been the captain of the team against City, and the youngster believes that United can turn around the tie in the second half.
