Nketiah joined Championship club Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Much was expected of the striker when he arrived at Elland Road, but the 20-year-old failed to establish himself in head coach Marcelo Bielsa’s starting lineup.
Leeds United Struggles
The England Under-21 international scored two goals in two EFL Cup ties for Leeds, and made two starts and 15 substitute appearances in the Championship, scoring three goals in the process.
Bielsa has told Leeds’s official website that Arsenal have decided to recall Nketiah from his loan spell at the West Yorkshire outfit.
Farewell
The young striker has reflected on his time at Leeds on Twitter, and the 20-year-old has wished the club the best of luck in their quest to clinch promotion to the Premier League.

Promotion challenge
Leeds have not featured in the Premier League since 2004, but the Whites are among the favourites to get promoted from the Championship this season.
The West Yorkshire club are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 52 points from 26 matches, level on points with second-placed West Bromwich Albion.
Leeds will return to action on Monday evening when they take on Arsenal away from home at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the third round of the FA Cup.
