Arsenal Held, Manchester City Come Back to Beat Leicester
Manchester City defeated Leicester City

Everton and Arsenal drew 0-0 at Goodison Park in their Premier League match held on Saturday.

Both teams had new managers sitting in the stand, Mikel Arteta who was announced as the new Arsenal boss on Friday, and Carlo Ancelotti who was confirmed by Everton just before kick-off. It meant the caretaker managers Duncan Ferguson and Freddie Ljundberg were taking charge for the last time. With both teams trying to impress their new bosses, the first half was full of endeavour, but little actual quality, and there were no chances created worth talking about for either side.

The second half was marginally better, with Arsenal creating the best chance of the game when Callum Chambers flicked on a corner for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arriving at the back post, only for Jordan Pickford in the home goal to claw the ball out from under his bar. At the other end, the best chance that Everton had to score was when the ball ricocheted around the Arsenal box, and Chambers almost put through his own net.

In the end, both teams settled for a point with their new managers now aware of the size of the task in front of them.

Manchester City beat Leicester City 3 - 1 at the Etihad. Leicester took the lead on 20th minute when Harvey Barnes set Jamie Vardy clear and he beat the onrushing goalkeeper to clip the ball over him and into the net. The equaliser came ten minutes later, although there was an element of luck to it Casper Schmeichel had the shot from Riyad Mahrez covered, but it took a deflection off a defender and wrong-footed him. Two minutes before half-time, the home team took the lead when Raheem Stirling was adjudged to have been brought down by Ricardo Pereira in the box. Ilkay Gundogan tucked away the spot kick accurately.

City had the majority of possession and chances in the second half and made the points safe when Kevin de Bruyne surged down the right, and his low cross found Gabriel Jesus at the far post to slide the ball home.

Leicester still led City in the table and are second, but the gap between the two teams has been reduced to a single point.
