As announced on Arsenal’s official website on Friday, the Gunners have handed the head coach’s role to Arteta.
The Spaniard was working as an assistant coach at Premier League rivals Manchester City.
It is the first senior managerial role for the 37-year-old former Spanish midfielder, who played for Arsenal from 2011 until 2016.
Former Arsenal striker Campbell is delighted to see Arteta handed the job at the Emirates Stadium.
I wish Mikel Arteta all the very best and I sincerely hope he can bring a winning culture back to Arsenal through recruiting players who want to fight, develop, improve and succeed together as a group!
