Liverpool star James Milner has taken to Twitter to express his delight at signing a new contract with the club.

As announced on Liverpool’s official website, Milner - who can operate as a midfielder, winger or full-back - has put pen to paper on a new deal.

The 33-year-old former Leeds United, Newcastle United and Aston Villa star’s original deal was set to run out at Anfield at the end of the season.

Milner has taken to Twitter to express his delight at signing a new contract, and he wants to celebrate it by helping Liverpool win against Watford at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Milner has been at Liverpool since the summer of 2015 when he joined on a free transfer after leaving Premier League rivals Manchester City.

The Englishman has established himself as an important player for the Reds over the years, and his importance in the dressing room and as a senior player is massive.

The veteran midfielder has scored 25 goals in 198 games in all competitions for Liverpool so far this season, and has won the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup with the Merseyside outfit.
