Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has taken to Twitter to express his delight at making his debut for England on Sunday.

Tomori was in action for England in their final Euro 2020 Group A qualifying against Kosovo away from home on Sunday.

The 21-year-old defender did not start the match, but he came on as a substitute for Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 84th minute.

It was the youngster’s first appearance for the Three Lions, and he is delighted to have turned out for Gareth Southgate’s team.

Future first-team regular

Tomori is having a breakthrough season at Chelsea under manager Frank Lampard, having impressed the Englishman when he worked with him at Derby County in the Championship during the 2018-19 season.

The 21-year-old scored one goal and provided one assist in 47 Championship appearances for the Rams last season, as Derby reached the playoff final.

So far this season, the Englishman has scored one goal in nine league matches for Chelsea.

The way Tomori is playing and progressing at the moment suggests that he can become a regular for the England first team in the coming years.

Chelsea are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season and are also looking to progress to the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
