Spurs returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-1 win against Southampton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Tanguy Ndombele, signed from Lyon in the summer transfer window for £53.8 million, put Spurs in the lead in the 24th minute with a powerful deflected effort.
Spurs suffered a blow just seven minutes later when right-back Serge Aurier was dismissed for two bookable offences.
Danny Ings equalised for Southampton in the 39th minute, but just minutes later, England international striker Harry Kane restored Tottenham’s lead after being fed by Christian Eriksen.
It proved to be the winning goal, and saw Tottenham bounce back from their shock defeat to Colchester United in the third round of the EFL Cup.
Lamela, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, has taken to Twitter to revel in the win for Spurs against the Saints, and believes that the players showed how strong they are.

Top-Four Challenge
With Liverpool and Manchester City setting the bar high, Tottenham are unlikely to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
However, Spurs are very much in the race for a top-four finish in the league this campaign.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 11 points from seven matches, 10 points behind leaders Liverpool and a point being fourth-placed West Ham United.
Tottenham will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Bayern Munich at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Champions League Group B.
