Arsenal v Chelsea live & preview Premier League 2015-16

On Sunday, January 24, Arsenal FC hosts Chelsea FC in an English Premier League London Derby. The game will be played at the Emirates stadium in the city of London and will kick off at 17:00 BST.

The hosts are currently top of the table with 44 points from 22 games, while the visitors are in 14th place, with 25 points from 22 games.

A win for the league leaders will likely see them retain their position on the league table, while a defeat could see them end the weekend in 3rd place. A win for struggling Chelsea could see them move to 13th place, while a defeat could see them stumble to as low as 17th place.

The Gunners, managed by Arsene Wenger, are in good form, with three wins and two draws in their last five games in all competitions. These wins were in consecutive league games against AFC Bournemouth (2-0 on December 28) and Newcastle United (1-0 on January 2). They also defeated Sunderland in the FA Cup (3-1 on January 9).

The FA Cup holders however drew both of their most recent games, against Liverpool (3-3 on January 13), and Stoke City (0-0 on January 17). Both of these draws were in league games.

The reigning champions, managed by Guus Hiddink are in good form, with two wins and three draws in their last five games. These wins were against Crystal Palace in the league (0-3 on January 3), and Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup (2-0 on January 10).

The Blues have drawn their recent league games against Manchester United (0-0 on December 28), West Bromwich Albion (2-2 on January 13), and Everton (3-3 on January 16).

The Gunners have had to call on veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech on various times this season, and he has been up to the task. He will have to put emotions aside against his former club if he is to help the Gunners secure a big victory in their push for the title. Loic Remy will likely have to deputize for the injured Diego Costa, and will be hoping to stake a claim for a more permanent role with a good performance in this game.

The Gunners have been decent at home in their big games this season, while Chelsea are yet to secure a big win away from home this season.

Arsenal welcome back Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to their starting lineup while Chelsea will likely be without Eden Hazard and Diego Costa. The Gunners to strengthen their title credentials with a hard fought victory in this game.
