Celta Vigo welcome Real Madrid to Estadio de Balaídos in Vigo, Spain in game week nine of the new season in the Spanish Primera Division. The game kicks off at 16:00 hours CEST on Saturday, October 24, 2015 and is the battle of the top two teams in the league.
The hosts Celta Vigo are currently in the second position in the La Liga table with 18 points from their eight games and are only behind Real on goal difference. Real sit atop, also with 18 points but with a goal difference of +16, seven goals better than their opponents for the game.
Celta Vigo have been extremely impressive in their start to the new season surprising many of their staunch critics with their showing so far. Their recent good form has resulted in three wins and two draws from the last five fixtures. The wins have come against Villarreal, Barcelona and Sevilla while the two draws have been against Getafe and Eibar. They are high on confidence and will surely feel they have a chance to upset the giants from Madrid.
Real Madrid meanwhile are on an unbeaten run of their own winning five and drawing three of their first eight matches. Their recent games have resulted in wins against Levante, Athletic Bilbao and Granada and draws to Malaga and Atletico Madrid.
The midweek Champions League fixture away to PSG ended goalless and Madrid will be upbeat in the league come weekend.
Christiano Ronaldo will once again be the man to watch out for Madrid, while coach Rafa Benitez will expect the likes of Isco, Jesé, Casemiro, Modric and Kroos to provide good support on the pitch. Celta Vigo on the other hand will be banking heavily on the front three of Nolito, Orellana and Iago Aspas as they have shown us all season of their attacking threat.
Real go in as marginal favourites although it is an away game and Celta Vigo cannot be ruled out by any stretch of our imaginations. Expect the game to be a feisty affair with all of the three results a possibility.
