Wales vs. Israel: European Championship Betting Preview

Wales are on the brink of qualification for Euro 2016 and surely there won’t be any stopping them in Cardiff on Sunday.

Chris Coleman’s side will grace a major international tournament for the fist time in over 50 years barring an almighty collapse and the party has already stated thanks to victory over Cyprus on Thursday evening.

Gareth Bale was the man, yet again, responsible for providing Wales with all three points last time out and the Real Madrid star is very much the inspiration for a talented generation.

Bale can’t do it all on his own however and the team spirit among Coleman’s crew is unrivalled on the international stage.

Cookie’s captain, Ashley Williams, is just as important in the defensive third of the pitch as Bale is at the other end and the Swansea stalwart and his teammates have conceded just twice in seven matches so far.

It is four clean sheets in a row against opponents that are certainly no pushovers and the win against Israel in March set the tone.

That 3-0 victory, when Bale was on target twice, was followed by the crucial, narrow success over Belgium and Wales are now ranked inside the world’s top ten.

That lofty status doesn’t flatter them and Israel have a sizeable task at hand if they are to prevent Wales sealing the deal in the capital.

The visitors themselves still harbour hopes of qualification but a play-off spot via Group B is probably the best they can hope for now and I don’t expect Wales to be anything less than impressive. Israel have already been beaten in Bosnia and still have to travel to Brussels.

At 10/11, the hosts are very much worthy of support and they will take enormous confidence from that result in Haifa six months ago. Back them to prevail in style.
