Germany v Poland Euro 2016 qualifier live & preview

Germany host Poland in Group D of the European Championship qualifications at the Frankfurter Volksbank Stadion in Frankfurt.

Germany host Poland in Group D of the European Championship qualifications at the Frankfurter Volksbank Stadion in Frankfurt. The game kicks off at 20:45 CEST on Friday, September 4, 2015.

Germany currently occupy the second place in Group D behind their opponents for the game Poland, who lead the group. They have 13 points from the six matches they have played so far. Poland meanwhile are on top of the group 14 points from their six matches.

Germany have picked up pace after what was a poor start to their campaign with just four points from their first three matches.

But the last three games have resulted in wins over Gibralter (twice) and Georgia away from home and the Germans will now definitely look to avenge the 2-0 loss they suffered at the hands of Poland back in October last year.

The visitors have played some good football to remain at the top with their last five games yielding three wins and two draws. The wins have come against Georgia (home and away) and Germany while the draws have been against Republic of Ireland and Scotland.

They will look to secure top spot with what must be an upset win against the mighty Germans.

Andre Schurrle and Max Kruse come into the fixture in rich scoring form for Germany after their exploits against Gibralter. Germany will also look to the likes of Schweinsteiger, Kroos and Muller along with Hummels and Boateng at the back to deliver an efficient performance for a win.

Poland will be lead from the front through Bayern Munich star striker Robert Lewandowski. They will also need good performances from the likes of Blaszczykowski, Grosicki and Peszko if they are to take away anything from the fixture.

Germany are surely the favorites to win the game but Poland are no pushovers in this qualifications phase as they will look to stifle their fancied opponents and try to pick up at least a point away from home.
