The defending champions Chelsea host Swansea at Stamford Bridge in game week one of the new season of the English Premier League. The game kicks off at 18:30 CEST on Saturday, August 08, 2015 and promises to be an exciting clash.
Chelsea won the Premier League title last season with eight points to spare and they are the team to beat this season. Swansea on the other hand finished eighth last season performing very well and expectations of them are high this season.The pre-season has not gone according to plan for the champions as they failed to register a full time win although they managed to beat PSG and Barcelona on penalties. Defeats to New York Red Bulls and Fiorentina and the big loss to Arsenal in the Community Shield have come as a cause of concern for Jose Mourinho going into the new season.
Swansea have also had a mixed pre-season going unbeaten but with four draws in the five matches they have been a part of. The draws have come against Deportivo La Coruña, Nottingham Forest, Reading and Borussia M’gladbach while the lone win in the time was a 2-1 away win against 1860 München.
The players to watch out for Chelsea will surely be last season’s player of the year Eden Hazard along with the likes of Fà bregas, Matić, Ivanovic and captain J. Terry. It also remains to be seen how Radamel Falcao starts up front for the home team.
Swansea on the other hand will also be interested to see how their new players André Ayew, K. Naughton, Jack Cork and Éder perform along with the likes of Sigurdsson, Shelvey and Gomis.
Chelsea are the favourites for this one and the game is also being played at home which is a tough place to get a result but the Swans will come prepared to play the spoilsport.
