Cars must wait in line until the finish line is crossed. If the first green flag lap is not over, the restart with all vehicles will be complete, except for cars that have been caused or penalized by the yellow flag. The green flag remains displayed as an opponent hops in the front row to restart. After the field crosses the back section, the warning flag will then come out.
The Thanksgiving Classic is one of every year's most thrilling late model bumper races in the nation, and the "Controlled Caution" rivalry will undoubtedly make the event more exciting. During the Safety Car cycle, teams can change tires, add fuel and, in a short period, add 2-5 laps or 5 minutes to modifications, independently of a competition warning or an event involving Safety Car. The teams either do not lose a track position, depending on the series. Whether there is an interval break or track position is not lost, concerning the cars that fit after the warning. For instance, when cars pit third, fourth, and eighth during the caution, cars pit will be first, second, and third, pit lane, and they will start in the same order as in front of the safety car behind lead-lap cars which do not pit. The rule is designed to avoid teams.
History
In late-model Stock Car racing, controlled caution was never used, but in Super Late Models racing in the mid-south area, it is widespread. Controlled precautions will encourage drivers to get down pit road because once they are on pit road, they will not be able to shift tires and make any changes in the cars that go down pit ways. You will nevertheless lose places in the cars on the lane, but whatever the order, the vehicles will all line up as the chase begins again.Michael Diaz, the Southern National Motorsports Park owner, believes that the inclusion of Controlled Caution will make the competition for the fans ever more exciting. Some warnings won't be seen as a "controlled caution," but rather as a quicker warning to reset the field and go back green quickly. The managed caution format is used for all the other warnings. Where there are long green flags, there will be warnings to ensure that 40 to 55 laps of managed caution take place. The rivalry warning will only wave in the 15-rpm window when the race was 40 laps from the last warning.
