Sir Stephen Geoffrey Redgrave CBE is a rower from Great Britain. He was born on March 23, 1962 and has won numerous gold medals in different tournaments. Known as the greatest Olympian that the United Kingdom has ever produced, Redgrave is among the four athletes to date who have won five consecutive gold medals. He is married to Ann Callaway (now known as Lady Redgrave) since 1988. Lady Redgrave is known as an exceptional rower in her own right, and has accomplished much being such.

Redgrave is a huge and powerful man – even for a rower. He stands 6 feet, 5 inches tall and during his prime, he weighed over 100 kilograms with a primary strength in sweep oared rowing. He has earned the distinction of being one of the very few oarsmen who have earned a gold medal in the Olympics after rowing both strokeside and bowside. In addition to his acclaim, Redgrave even enjoyed successes in indoor rowing – even winning at the 1991 World Championship for Indoor Rowing.

After Redgrave won his fifth Olympic Gold in 2000, he retired from rowing and was awarded as the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. As recognition for his efforts, Redgrave became a Knight Bachelor in 2001. Prior to that, he was already made an MBE (1987) and a CBE (1997).

After his life as a rower, Redgrave made further waves as he completed the London Marathon for the third time, raising 1,800,000 pounds for charity. He has launched his own brand of clothing by the name of FiveG which is being sold at department stores. He is committed to do more charity work (more specifically the Third World) through his clothing brand as well as the Sir Steve Redgrave Charity Trust.
