Eric Heiden
Eric Heiden was born on 15th of July 1958, in Madison, Wisconsin, and is more commonly known as Eric.
Eric Heiden had won several gold medals in all five speed skating competitions at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York - 500m, 1,000m, 1,500m, 5,000m, and 10,000m. He was one of only two men who competed in all five events that year. He beat 144 competitors in the five events in total.

After Eric started his undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford University in 1984 and in 1991 he earned his M.D. there. In 1996 he completed his orthopedic residency training at Cal-Davis. After a year at a sports medicine clinic in Birmingham, he went back to California to practice orthopedic surgeon in Sacramento. He was also a team physician for the NBA's Sacramento Kings of the NBA and the Sacramento Monarchs of the WNBA. He was the team physician for the U.S. Olympic Speed skating Team in 2002 and 2006.
In 1980, he received the James E. Sullivan Award and in 1983, he was inducted into the United States Olympic Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the United States Bicycling Hall of Fame in 1999.
