Sage Karam
Sage Karam is a professional racing driver from America. He competes for the NTT IndyCar Series part-time and drives the No.24 Chevrolet Indy V6 for the team Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. He also played part-time for the NASCAR Xfinity Series and drives the No.31 Chevrolet Camaro for the team Jordan Anderson Racing.
Early Career
Before becoming a racing driver, Sage raced go-karts back at the Oakland Valley Race Park located in Cuddebackville, New York. He went on to the U.S. F2000 National Championship for the auto racing team Andretti Autosport after his foray in karting, which happened in the year 2010. His back-to-back wins at the Milwaukee Mile and Iowa Speedway earned him the Rookie of the Year award.
Indy Lights
Sage had a short stint in the Firestone Indy Lights series but managed to win the Indy Lights in the same. This made him the eighth rookie to be able to win the series championship.
In 2014, Sage raced in the IndyCar series, competing in the 2014 Indianapolis 500 and finishing 9th, making him the second-highest rookie to finish. His best season finish in 2015, at third place during the 2015 Iowa Corn 300. In May of 2021, Karam raced at the 105th Indy 500. Though he finished 7th, it was his best Indy 500 finish to date.
Rallycross
In 2019, Karam signed with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, competing at the 2019 Americas Rallycross Championship. He did well and did not place lower than second. He even won the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
NASCAR
In July 2021, Sage made his NASCAR debut with Jordan Anderson Racing.
Looking back at Sage Karam’s professional achievements, in 2012, he was awarded the Top American in Star Mazda Series with a total of three wins. In 2013, he became the Firestone Indy Lights Champion and Rookie of the Year. In 2014, he finished 9th at the Indianapolis 500 despite being a rookie and achieved the highest finish made by a Ganassi car. In 2015, he became the development driver for Chip Ganassi Racing. In 2016, he became a factory Lexus sports car driver. In 2017, he competed in his fifth Indianapolis 500 at 23 years of age. In 2019, he was awarded the Multiple Podium Winner at the American Rally Cross, and in 2020 he managed to complete 5 road course races with DRR.
