Helio Castroneves is a professional race car driver. He drives in the IndyCar Series for Meyer Shank Racing. He is known for having won the Indianapolis 500, four times. He also finished in second place at the IndyCar Championships in 2002, 2008, 2013, and 2014.

In 1991, he started his Junior Car Racing career. From 1993 to 1994, he raced in the Formula 3 Sudamericana. Then in 1995, he also raced in the British Formula Three Championship. Then from 1996 to 1997, he raced in Indy Lights.
From 1998 to 2001, he raced in the Champ Car Series for Bettenhausen Racing, Hogan Racing, and Team Penske. His best finish was fourth place at the 2011 championships.
IndyCar Career
He started racing in the IndyCar Series in 2001. His first race was at the Indianapolis 500. In his debut, he won the Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year award. He would go on to win the 2001 edition of the race, plus three more times again in 2002, 2009, and 2021.
He would also go on to be the runner-up at the IndyCar Championships four times in 2002, 2008, 2013, and 2014. In 2020, he won the IMSA Weather Tech SportsCar Championship. In 2021, 2022, and 2023, he was the 24 Hours of Daytona Overall Winner.
