Jack Ingram was a major star in the Busch Grand National Division after he won three consecutive championship titles between 1972 and 1974. He was almost untouchable in those three seasons and when the season reopened as the NASCAR Busch Series in 1982, he went back to it and won it all again. That wasn’t to be his last win in the category though. In 1985, Jack was back and winning it all again.
He won 31 NASCAR Busch Series events and that record stood for 12 years until Mark Martin won his 32nd NASCAR Busch series event at the North Carolina Speedway in October 1997. For Jack, 29 of his 31 wins came at short tracks and in his entire career at the Busch Series, he raced in 275 races and averaged at 5 wins a year between 1982 – 1987.
