Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa says winning the Valencia Grand Prix and six of the final eight races was a good way to finish the Moto GP season.
Pedrosa fell 18 points short of the title behind Jorge Lorenzo, who had clinched the Moto GP crown in Australia.
The Honda rider started from pole in tricky conditions in Valencia following early rain and lost his lead during the race, only to pounce again when Lorenzo crashed out with 17 laps to go.
Pedrosa won ahead of Yamaha’s Katsuyuki Nakasuga and Aussie Casey Stoner in his final Moto GP race.
“I’m really happy because it was so difficult out there with the track drying up,” Pedrosa said.
“I managed to catch Jorge, then I made a mistake, then he made one at the same point.
“It was very hard to keep focus towards the end as the gap (back to the chasing pack) was so big.
“This is a good way to finish the season.”
