Winning his first Sprint Cup Series, Kyle Busch finally ended the two week slump, at Infineon Raceway. The Sunday win in a Toyota, say Busch make his series high fifth win this season. “I’m not happy unless I am winning, to be honest. I am a miserable person”, he said, adding “But it means a lot to be able to run well and win. I’m a moody person, I guess. All of us drivers are when we’re not having a good day. But when you have a good day and win races, it’s kind of ‘Sun’s up’.”

Starting 30th after a poor qualifying run, Busch steadily progressed through the field and soon was in the lead, away from Juan Pablo Montoya, defending race winner. The rest of the way saw Busch maintain his lead easily, though a few trials came up for the driver in the two late restarts.

Busch celebrated with his usual smoky burnout and customary bow to the crowd from atop his car. Coming a close second was David Gilliland, followed by Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer and Casey Mears.
