Verstappen Racing is entering into a multi-year partnership with Mercedes-AMG, starting next season, the team officially confirmed this week

Verstappen Racing, competing in the GT World Challenge Europe championship powered by AWS, will field a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in both the Sprint and Endurance Cup from the 2026 season onwards.

Stefan Wendl, Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing, commented: β€œWe are delighted that Verstappen Racing has chosen to field a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the GT World Challenge Europe. With 2 Seas Motorsport, the project is supported by a highly experienced team that has already achieved numerous successes and championship titles with our car.

β€œAccordingly, we are very pleased about this extremely ambitious and promising project, as well as about another high-calibre entry in both the Sprint and Endurance programmes of the GT World Challenge Europe.”

Furthermore, the entry run by 2 Seas Motorsport team will feature Chris Lulham at the wheel, who will share driving duties with experienced Spanish driver Daniel Juncadella across the five rounds of the Sprint championship.

β€œIt is really exciting to continue racing in the GT World Challenge Europe, now with a new teammate and new car,” outlined Lulham.

In 2025, Lulham partnered with Thierry Vermeulen and Harry King behind the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo in the Verstappen.com Racing livery, securing the title in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Sprint Cup, Gold class.

Next season, the British driver will embark on his second campaign in the series with new teammate Juncadella.

β€œI have learned and experienced a lot in my first year of GT3 racing, and it’s an unbelievable opportunity to be able to work with such professionals as Mercedes-AMG Motorsport and Daniel. I can’t wait to get started, added the 22-year-old racer.

Speaking about signing with Verstappen Racing, the Barcelona-born asserted: β€œI’m excited to be partnering up with Chris in the upcoming GT World Challenge Europe season and thankful for Verstappen Racing to be partnering up with Mercedes-AMG Motorsport. With the input that Max brings to the table, it’s a really strong project.”

The 34-year-old Aston Martin official sim racing driver will also take on a new challenge in 2026, contesting his first campaign in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Hypercar category, representing Genesis Magma Racing in its debut.

In addition, Lulham and Juncadella will partner with Mercedes-AMG GT3 AMG Performance Driver Jules Gounon in the Endurance Cup, which includes the iconic 24 Hours of Spa race among its five rounds.

β€œAs I have worked for years with Mercedes-AMG, it is just great to continue to build on that experience, together with Verstappen Racing, Chris, and Dani,” expressed the French driver.

β€œIt is a fantastic project that has all the ingredients to make it a success. I look forward to working together.”
