Blink, and you will miss it; Formula E has unveiled the latest evolution of the GEN3 Evo challenger, accelerating 30 percent faster than the current F1 car and 36 percent faster than its predecessor, bringing racing performance to a new level.

H.S.H Prince Albert II’s Private Car Collection in Monte Carlo, Monaco, saw the ABB Formula E World Championship and the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile(FIA) presentation of the latest GEN3 EVO, the currently quickest accelerating FIA single-seater on the planet.

Jeff Dodds, Chief Executive Officer of Formula E, commented: “The GEN3 Evo heralds a ground-breaking chapter in the evolution of Formula E, embodying our dedication to innovation and high performance achieved sustainably.”

Featuring unprecedented acceleration and an advanced aerodynamic design, the car that I had the honor of unveiling in Monaco is set to intensify the thrill of our racing, captivating our drivers and fans around the world with truly superior capabilities and performance,” he added.

Following a series of technical upgrades to the Formula E all-electric racing car, set to feature next year in Season 11 of the world’s first net zero carbon sport, the single-seater is not only 36 percent fastest than its predecessor but also capable of 0-60mph in 1.82s, becoming 30 percent quickest than a current F1 car.

Aiming to boost wheel-to-wheel racing, making the utmost of cutting-edge vehicle technology, the challenger has substantially improved in three key areas: performance, sustainability, and efficiency.

Capable of reaching a top speed of 200mph, the GEN3 EVO will wear enhanced, sustainable boots in the shape and form of the all-weather Hankook iON tires, made from 35 percent recycled and sustainable materials, set to provide more grip, ranging from 5 to 10 percent.

Meanwhile, its electric motor, over 90 percent efficiency, significantly overcomes the 40 percent efficiency typical of internal combustion engines.

Furthermore, a new feature, the all-wheel drive (AWD), maximizing acceleration and control, will be available during qualifying duels, race starts, and ATTACK MODE from next season.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA President, remarked: “The FIA and Formula E have been working hard on the development process of this new GEN3 Evo race car, which represents another significant leap forward in electric racing technology.”

I would like to thank both FIA and Formula E teams for the hard work which underlines our shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of sustainable motorsport while delivering competitive racing.”

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Gen3 era began as Season 9 kickstarted in 2022, delivering more powerful, lighter cars with enhanced performance, battery efficiency (fast-charging capabilities), and new cost-control measures.

Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE) is the sole battery supplier for Formula E Cars; Spark Racing Technology produces a spec chassis for all teams, including the front powertrain kit.

From Season 13 (202627), Formula E will start writing a new chapter in the sport as the Gen4 era begins.

The Gen3 program, responsible for designing the world’s first race car for street racing, is building the basis for the ultimate single-seater.
