Gresini retain de Angelis for 2009

Fausto Gresini have completed the 2009 starting grid after Alex de Angelis signed for another season at Honda’s satellite team. One of the rookies in this season’s championships, Alex has had a tough time with some crashes. Despite that, the San Marino man has scored some outstanding results including a fourth place at Mugello and Sachsenring. These have been a tribute to his wonderful ability to adapt to various scenarios, a trait that won him back his place again.

Gresini believes that with this formality out of the way, Alex will be calmer for the upcoming races and will probably perform at a better level. In any case, the team will be looking at future development along with the youngster.

“Our objective is to finish off the season in the best way possible and I’m sure Alex will now be able to approach this target in a more relaxed and stress-free manner after reaching an agreement to stay with our team for 2009,” says Gresini.
