Renault F1Rotterdam will wake to the deafening noise of Formula One engines screaming through their streets as Renault F1, Toyota F1 and Force India> will demonstrate their wares as part of the Bavaria City Racing Event. The festival is an annual downtown display that gives fans the chance to see an F1 car from up close. The drivers cross the Willemsburg bridge as well as some famous landmarks on Coolsingel before the 2.2 km track leads them back to Hofplein.

“It’s very exciting to get the chance to show everyone in Rotterdam what Formula One is all about,” said Toyota’s Jarno Trulli, part of two 3-lap demonstrations that will run no Sunday afternoon. “Driving through the centre of the city will certainly be spectacular to watch and very exciting for me as the driver too. I expect it to be a great show and it will really build the anticipation for the street race in Valencia. I have never driven at this event in Rotterdam before but I won the Monaco Grand Prix a few years ago so I think I can manage!”

Along with Trulli, Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil, of Force India, and Renault lead test driver, Sakon Yamamoto will be burning some rubber. Red Bull test driver, Robert Doornbos will also be making an appearance.

“It always feels good to be back in my hometown Rotterdam,” Doornbos said. “I’m really looking forward to the event, as I have great memories of the 2005 and 2007 editions in which I also participated. Together with the ING Renault F1 team I’m really pumped up to give people the best ever F1 demo they have ever seen!”

There will be other thins barring F1 that will also be on display during the festival. A “Race Salon” will offer the viewers an in-depth look into the workings of a pit-garage during a race simulation.

Meanwhile, Toyota’s Timo Glock will be traveling to the United States and to California where he will join the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races at the Laguna Seca track. Glock will be driving the Toyota Eagle Mark III sportscar and will also take part in the Toyota Race of Legends in a Scion TC sport coupe.
