Anderson turned pro in March 2013. His first fight was against JR Briones. That year, he also had 5 other fights, three of them exhibition fights with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. In July 2014, he won against Matt Van Buren in the UFC.

His first professional loss came in 2015 when he lost to Gian Villante in April. He continued fighting for the UFC through to 2020 when he lost to Jan Blachowicz in February. Some of his more significant wins, while he was in the UFC, include fights against Johnny Walker, Tom Lawlor, and Fabio Maldonado.

In November 2020, he started fighting for Bellator MMA. He had three straight wins in 2020 and 2021. In April 2022, his fight against Vadim Nemkov ended in a No Contest result. The two had a rematch in November 2022 and Anderson lost.
